What are some of your favorite supplements that have known anti-aging properties?
Personally, I take Grape seed extract, multivitamin, glucosamine, EFA's including fish oil, and a few others. |

| I have heard that Alpha hydroxy acids and glycolic peels also arrest ageing conditions along with evening primrose oil. They make the skin smooth and regulates our bodily functions too. |

Alpha hydroxy is a vitamin acid that helps to shed dead skin cells as does a glycolic peel. So for the face that is a good treatment.
I think Olmy stated that he takes Omega 3's. Evening primrose is a similar Omega fatty acid but Omega 6. Both are good, and should be in a diet for anti aging, joint relief, and skin help.
Remember you want supplements for the inside as well as the outside. _________________ Matrim

hi,
Cod liver oil for the skin , hair and smoothness of the skin and Retino and aloe vera products for the outside appearance of our body.. I really dont know how far they all are effective in slowing down the process but nevertheless we can try and give it a shot . Recent studies have shown that Alpha Lipoic Acid not only has great effect as an anti-ageing agent but also increases mental alertness and keeps it active too. |

Thanks for the posts everyone.
I believe in doing what you can with natural supplements and excercise are the best.
So, of course you will want to eat right and excercise 3 times a week if not more. Stay away from sugar (my vice is soda right now - sugar and carbonation and coloring, NOT good), processed foods if possible, and eat an apple a day.
There are natural supplements, both vitamins and herbs that I listed above. Along with those are ginkgo biloba for circulation and possible mental function improvement (memory etc). Bilberry and lutein are big right now for the eyes. And of course, don't forget the big antioxidant vitamins C and E.
As for alternatives, there are some hormones that have shown mild improvements in studies. Which means they may or may not work .
They are:
1)Melatonin - for sleep, but also for improved mental function and a variety of other ailments associated with age.
2)DHEA - this is called the mother of hormones because testosterone and estrogen both are derived from it. So reports are that can help with energy, immune system, libido, all things that decline with age
3)Growth Hormone - this hormone can do what DHEA does through a different pathway in the body. It is known that GH declines with age, and since it is involved in growth, supplementation may help with muscle growth and immune system.
Hope this helps. If you want more, we can post more
ps. I hope to have the anti-aging page up soon. You can find it at:

| Vitamin E is great, but not too much. Make sure it's the natural kind. I think they linked too much Vitamin E as being harmful, but smaller doses are beneficial. Really smooths out the skin. |
